About Angie

My experience, credentials, anxiety story and mission...

A bit about me

I'm someone who can find love in most things. A bit of an empath, I have a passion for people and I believe we should all be free to live well and able to feel joy, but I know that too many are lost in their struggles.
I fell in love with life, nature and people, after not appreciating them for so long; and I feel excited about helping others to do the same.

The truth is: I am no-one special. I'm not a doctor or clinical psychologist. I'm not insanely intelligent. I'm not a pillar of perfection. I've still got areas of my life I'm working on because growth is constant. I'm just like you. Like the girl next door. I'm still mastering myself, I'm still working on me, I'm still learning, I still have challenges and I'm still building the life I want. Only difference is I get to do all that now unburdened by anxiety! I wouldn't have done half the things I have since done if I hadn't broken free - they used to be impossible to me.

Obviously, since my experience, I've completed the qualifications I needed to allow me to do the work with you that I do and that learning doesn't end.
Today, I'm a certified Integral Holistic Health Practitioner and accredited Right-Mindfulness Teacher.

I also hold qualifications in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki and Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing). I integrate all the knowledge I have gained into the work I do and they contribute to my broad knowledge around wellbeing.

I've also gained a wide variety of knowledge and experience through working with people from many walks of life and from my own life experiences (families, mental health, addiction, social services); and also from my coaches, mentors, work and study of self-development and holistic healthcare.

My Story With Anxiety

If you're reading this you're probably suffering with anxiety, and if you are, I feel you and I see you. Anxiety has got to be one of the most surprising, scary and most baffling things that has ever happened to me.

My personal experience of extreme anxiety floored me.

I experienced GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and Panic Disorder, yet I never pursued a formal diagnosis. I also suffered with stress and depression at this time and for years before. The negative impact this had hit every area of my life - my physical health, mental health, relationships, mood and overall wellbeing.

Despite how hard that all was and how little help I was able to access, I got free. And what I hope when sharing my story is that it gives you hope that there is a life that is possible without the suffering. Without anxiety. There are millions of people living this way, happy, peaceful and it's a place you can get to too.

For me, it all came to a head back in 2016, after years of ignoring stress, burnout, signs of anxiety and my mindset. I started getting tons of physical side effects from rashes to dizziness to palpitations. The palpitations were so extreme, I thought I was having a heart attack or that I had developed some sort of heart condition.

I stopped being able to go out and I eventually went on sick leave. After several trips to the doctors, blood tests, ecgs, scans, A&E visits and a referral to the hospital cardiologist; I learnt that I had a clean bill of health. There was no illness but also no answers.

All the physical illnesses I had been experiencing could only be put down to stress and anxiety.

I had reached my limit of how much I was prepared to suffer and so I spent the following 6 months trying anything and everything to feel better. It completely changed my life from dull, depressing and ill; to joyful, exciting and healthier. After those 6 months and a lot of trial and error, I now know what truly helps. I can also assure you that it does not take 6 months to free yourself from suffering. It takes work and commitment yes, but it takes only days to feel an improvement and weeks to feel completely different.

It's possible to be free...

So, I talk from first hand experience about how it's possible to navigate through anxiety so that you can:

1) fully understand what it is..

2) understand what it means to you personally..

3) show you how to move passed it

and create a life without it!

The joy doesn't stop there either...

Part of freeing yourself from unnecessary suffering starts with empowering you to regain peace, confidence, balance and perspective and that idea comes into everything I do. Your life can be what you want it to be.

I have changed so many things about my life since 2016. I'm not the same person. Freeing yourself from anxiety will kick start a journey to feeling more connected, more alive and closer to living the life you actually want to.

Does that sound good!? Trust me, it really is...

So don't settle for anything less.

Big Love

Angie

My other passion...

Cogs - Community of Growth

My passion project! If you've read the rest of this page or if you've worked with me before, you'll get what this is all about. As well as helping people break free from anxiety, I'm also passionate about helping people build self-development into their lives. Balancing well-being needs with family life, work and societal pressures can be hard - after all there's a reason why so many more people are suffering with mental health issues. The way we are living at 100 miles an hour and acting like human doings instead of human beings is a HUGE part of that problem.
I am blessed to have two beautiful girls, a house to run, a big extended family and some awesome friends and passion projects; so I really understand and appreciate how hard it is to have so many different hats to wear, roles to fill and people to love and care for. It can be really difficult to prioritise yourself and your well-being when life is busy and demands and expectations are high. I walk that road too.

In all this busyness, connection with ourselves, others and the world at large can be at an all time low. We can slowly lose touch with ourselves and what we need/want, lose connection and compassion, and begin to gradually become more isolated, independent and lose that sense of community.

Some people are not blessed with families or like-minded connections so can be even more isolated. Thisso it's really important to surround themselves with safe, empowering, warm and like-minded people.

"You are who you surround yourself with" they say. We all would benefit from a safe community to encourage, empower, celebrate wins, offer support and accountability for each other. We rise faster when we rise together.

It can be a struggle to prioritise or access self-development classes or courses, and creating change on your own can feel overwhelming, and that’s where Cogs comes in.

Sound amazing? It is. Check out our website to see more about the online and in-person events we hold.
